Literature Text

Venta - Goddess of Air and Wind.

Venta, the goddess of air and wind, admired and loved by all air mages,
was a benevolent yet harsh one.
she changed her mind often, just as the wind changes its course.

Despite being mother to all, not many of her children remained to worship her.
For in cruel and desperate times where mutants were hunted down by humans and their seekers,
The Air Mages were nearly wiped of the face of the earth.
Some of them took refuge in the mountains, others took to the cavernous depths.

Yet almost all of them were found and killed in cold blood by a xenophobic race,
a race risen from below the ground’s irradiated crust. Humans, yes – humans.
In the age of atomic bombs and nuclear radiation,
they ruined their own planet and were forced to take to the ground.
And in their absence giving hope and life to new races.
Mutants, Shadows and Mages, from which the Air mages are the most rare of them all.
Once the threat of radiation diminished they resurfaced, only to be confronted with these new ‘inferior’ races.
A threat to humanity, an eyesore, a cancer.
Yes, it were the humans who rose from the dirt, from the chaos,
And from the destruction they’ve left as their legacy.

Return of Mankind, The age of Destruction

The age of mankind was rekindled, and with it its revival by which the age of mutants was brought to a near end.

Humans used their ‘docile’ tamed seekers; mutants used to hunt mutants.
They were treated as pawns, they didn’t care for them, they were but inferior.

To the humans this was but a sport, and mutants were their trophies.
The rarer the mutant, the bigger the price.
Who wouldn't like to boast about their very rare wall ornament?

Though don’t get me wrong, not all humans were like this.
Some reached out to the mutants, much like some of the mutants reached out to them.
But for every human that killed a mutant, the mutant resistance would kill a human.
And it wasn't for long that this competition lead to civil unrest.

Creation of Unity and Fang

Some mutants were appalled by the actions of their very own kin
Those people became the backbone of the Unity,
the freedom fighters, the political activists and the overall pacifists.
Whilst the Unity seeks to resolve things peacefully by creating equal rights for human and mutant –alike.
Their more aggressive counterpart ,The Fang, the former elite resistance cared only to reclaim what was theirs.
And their sole purpose was to rise against the human race and hope to eradicate them.

Xarr's Introduction

Thus begins the tale of Xarr, an Air mage who lived in the secluded mountains peaks in
The Wasteland formerly known as Alaska, about 400km north of Yoru,
At the age of eight he witnessed the murder and mayhem that this human race could cause first hand.
After all, they were the very reason he was orphaned.
They, the humans, The Institute, were the very reason he hid within the mountains.

After spending years in solitary confinement by his own choice. Xarr took to the roads,
the harsh desolate roads, dirty paths with lingering memories of a peaceful long flown society.
Every step felt like a needle in his chest as he finally left his safe haven behind,
Whilst walking towards what he hoped would be a brighter future.
A future within The Unity, a place where he’d fit in.

This is a short fan fiction, and my take on the history of the Air Mages and the whole overall history concerning Apocalyptic-Dream.
Also some sort of introduction of my RP character Xarr.

Feedback and comments are appreciated, though keep in mind that this is but a fan fiction :).
