When you gaze within these hollow eyes of mine..
Tell me what do you see?
Do you see things of love, things divine?
Can you tell me, do our souls entwine?

Are they empty, as a beach without a sea?
Are they full of passion, are they fiery?
Do they glisten like the stars?
Or are they dead, filled with scars?

When you gaze within these eyes of mine..
They eagerly stare right in thine.
Not hollow or dead as mine may be,
They’ll spark up and glisten from the deepest depths.
As they resonate.. within your head.

This is a good work. The start is rather well composed; it gives a poetic touch that a few poets have previously in history also adopted namely the question and reverse answers given. Further questions imposing whether what you see is this or that. The choice of words is also balanced, it does not make a mess of the work but has captured subtlety as well.

The second stanza is also wonderful, Beach without a sea was a beautiful analogy and in my opinion a very unique one. This stanza seems to be my favorite.

While it was flowing really well, the last stanza does not manage to do justice to the work. For me it left me in a state of uncertainty of what you are trying to say. The last two lines especially. They felt a bit awkward to me. Otherwise this was a really good work.

Now moving onto the meter... it doesn't bother me and that is all I would say about it. The rhyme scheme though changes and although it didn't stand out in much of a bad way but I did feel a slight awkwardness and had to reread the first stanza to see whether the same scheme was being followed or not. It doesn't though, affect the quality of the work. All in all I think this is a work that is really good but can be better.
