Ratakh rummaged around for an ideal place to rest, deciding it would be best to make camp high up on the supporting branches which protruded from the trunk and formed a comfortable canopy; it had branches creating a perfect platform, and it has plenty of vines surrounding it.

He pointed in its direction - Y'tuwai nodded in agreement. Both sprinted their way upwards, towards their destination while pocketing whatever wood they could carry.

Y'tuwai took the wood that they both collected, proceeding to ignite a fire, while Ratakh in the meantime created a protective barrier around their location - a complete series of words in a long dead language followed by an ancient ritual in which he pierced the palm of his hand, creating a substitute "sacrifice".

“This should do for now” Ratakh mumbled in acknowledgement, as he stepped out of the shadows that obscured him. “Let us catch some rest and wait for at least a little light before proceeding”.

Chezzy-Am

Y'tuwai nodded while looking at their temporary shelter - he placed the palm of his right hand onto the branch, and felt a warmth ebbing out and entering his system - the ancients of the tree spoke to him, telling him a tale, speaking of forlorn adventurers who had ventured on ambitions... or so Y'tuwai imagined, and he lifted his hand and awoke from his procrastination, laughing softly to himself at such a thought.

Ratakh observed Y'tuwai, who started to make monkey movements with the branch, and stretched his arms while performing daring swings around the vicinity of their barrier. Ratakh came close to Y'tuwai and, although perturbed by this sudden disturbance, gently asked "Have you any musings you would like to share, Y'tuwai?"

Y'tuwai, between laughter, told Ratakh "Nothing to worry about - apparently this tree is, telling me tall tales about adventurers of a time long past."

Ratakh nodded his head, and making himself comfortable near the fire. The protective charm acting as a barrier around them prevented the fire from burning their camp, as the offering of blood was playing a role in keeping the fire contained to the branches collected for a temporary duration. Ratakh drowsily informed Y'tuwai, before going to sleep, "we have a long day tomorrow - don't forget to burn out the fire before going to sleep".

Y'tuwai looked at the starry sky, nodding his head in acknowledgement over what Ratakh had said; he contemplated the stars; the world beyond those specks washing away the drear nightscape. He closed his eyes and started singing an ancient song which was hummed when he was young. Feeling lethargic and soporific, Y'tuwai decided on retiring for the night; he extinguished the fire using his arm - a bionic replacement of a long time past; gently stirring the branches away from the centre, while the barrier absorbed the fire. It dissipated within moments. Y'tuwai, satisfied that there was no more remains of the fire, lay on his back where the fire had once been and within the slight warmth still ebbing from where the fire had been present. He lay on his back, looked at the sky, and contemplated the stars - the world beyond those specks washing away the drear nightscape, He closed his eyes and started to hum the same ancient song, which gently stirred him towards sleep.

This is the second chapter in the collab series between me and shehrozeameen This one was edited and given a bit of cleaning as well.

Anyway, in the first chapter (i.e. the introduction), we found our characters, Ratakh and Y'tuwai in the jungle of Arubinai, in finding a shelter for camping.
Continued in this chapter as indicated. Happy Reading, and comments are welcome.

My comments in Chapter 1 apply here. Another thing I would like to point out is there is a lot of unnecessary use of words. You need to edit it to make it cleaner and smoother.
